Eigopop is a language learning service that offers Eikaiwa language courses for Japanese children and teenagers.[1] The Daily NNA 媒体 describes Eigopop as a service that enables Japanese children to take Eikaiwa lessons from anywhere in the world, allowing students to study spoken English in a flexible setting.[2]

Eigopop is a web and mobile application for iOS and desktop browsers.[3] [4] The app's subscription service is based on cloud video conferencing technology to connect students and teachers across different locations. Subscribers are able to schedule lessons through the app by matching a student's requested schedule with available teachers from one to several times a week.[5]
The learning progress is tracked by receiving feedback reports between a student's parent and teachers after each lesson. While the service's core focus lies in providing live lessons it also offers access to offline learning material such as downloadable vocabulary cards, and karaoke songs.[6]
Concept[edit]
The service uses bi-lingual teachers that are fluent in Japanese and English. According to Eigopop using bi-lingual instructors encourages trust and easier communication between young learners and teachers.[7] Eigopop's language aqcuisition method is based on the combination of audio visual learning materials. During a lesson teachers control the display and playback of flashcards, scene images, visual intonation figures called "ジェスチャーde発音", and karaoke. The learning aids are used to support phrase memorization and phonetic flow. Eigopop's lesson content is based on themed lessons called "Episodes" that introduce different conversational topics such as "Food", "Jobs", or "Insects".[2] The curriculum is based on the CEFR levels for language learning.
