El Septimo

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

El Septimo is a cigar brand produced in Costa Rica and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.

History

El Septimo was founded in 2005 and acquired by the Younan Company in 2019.[1][2] Although initially sold only in Europe, the brand later expanded to 14 countries on four continents, following its 2019 acquisition.[3][4][5]

The brand’s name, “El Septimo,” references the seventh day of creation, symbolizing rest and reflection, according to the company.[6]

Production

El Septimo’s tobacco plantation is located in a mountainous region of Costa Rica, near San José, at an altitude of approximately 3,000 meters.[7][1] According to the company, it uses rainwater for irrigation and avoids the use of preservatives.[6][8] A portion of the harvested tobacco is aged in white rum barrels for five to fifteen years before being blended and rolled using traditional Cuban techniques. Packaging and final quality checks take place in Switzerland.[9] The package design is influenced by the Art Deco style.[10]

Product Lines

El Septimo offers several collections of cigars, including the Diamond Collection (tobacco aged for 15 years), the Luxus Collection (aged for 10 years), the Alexandra Collection (introduced in 2019 and aimed at female consumers), the Time Travel Collection, and the Gilgamesh Collection.[11][12][13] Specific blends and vitolas vary among these lines, with some cigars reportedly aged for up to 15 years.
