Elago is an electronics accessories designer and manufacturer based in San Diego, CA.[1][2] The company was founded by Andrew (né. Chanwoo) Lee in 2002[3]. Elago is one of the older manufacturers of iPhone cases and accessories – dating back to when the first iPhone was introduced. Elago is best known for its minimalist approach to design.[4][5][6]
Products
Elago initially focused on producing only iPhone cases and stands, but after years of gaining popularity within the tech industry, they have expanded their product offerings to cover a range of Apple and Samsung products including AirPods, Apple Watch, MacBook, Samsung Galaxy Buds and smartphones[7]. They also produce accessories for products such as Google Nest[8] Hello, and the Nest Thermostat.
Elago often finds inspiration from famous modern and vintage designs for its products, like Nintendo Game Boy.[9], retro Macintosh computers[10][11][12] and the iPod Classic[13]. These designs were used to create Apple Watch stands.[9][10]
Reception and awards
Several Elago products have been mentioned in publications such as Huffington Post[14], and Business Insider[15]
Elago has received several design awards including the Spark Award[16] and the K-Design Award[17]
