Eldaniz Elman oglu Mammadov (Azerbaijani: Eldəniz Elman oğlu Məmmədov; born July 25, 1981) is an Azerbaijani scientist in the field of library science, bibliography science and bibliology (book science), and the member of Editorial board of the scientific-theoretical and practical-methodical journal of «Bibliology and editorial art» (Azerbaijani: Kitabşünaslıq və redaktor sənəti; ISSN (Print): 2617-6939).[1][2][3]
Life and education[edit]
He was born in Baku, Azerbaijan. During 1988–1998 he studied at the secondary school number 13 in Baku. After graduation of secondary school, from 1998 to 2002 he studied for a bachelor's degree, and from 2002 to 2004 he successfully obtained a master's degree at the Librarian-information faculty of Baku State University.[1]
After serving in the army in 2004-2005, he continued his academic activities at the Baku State University.
On March 10, 2017, under the scientific guidance of the doctor of historical sciences, professor A.A.Khalafov he completed his thesis entitled “The fund of periodical press of the Azerbaijan National Library named after M.F.Akhundov: history, current status, reader service and prospects (1923-2007)” at the Librarian-information faculty of BSU.[4]
He is married and has two children.[1]
Career[edit]
From 2000 to 2002, a local young specialist Eldaniz Mammadov was a Project Assistant (as an editor he changed texts written in Cyrillic to Latin, and assisted in the creation of azeribooks.aznet.org, the first complete electronic library of Azerbaijan Classic Literature in Azeri Latin) in the Information Resources and Training Center for Librarians (IRTCL).[5]
Eldaniz Mammadov's the second workplace is the Scientific Library of Baku State University, in which he started working as a bibliographer from 2004 till present time.
From the 2014-2015 academic year up to now, he is teaching in the Library Science department at the Librarian-information faculty of Baku State University. At the same time, he is teaching in the "Tourism and library-information activities" department at the Culturology faculty of Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art, from the 2015-2016 academic year up to present.
He has made contributions to Library Science of Azerbaijan via exploring the rich fund of the periodical press of the Azerbaijan National Library named after M.F.Akhundov, an irreplaceable cultural treasure trove. The chronological scope of the study covers the period from 1923 to 2007.[4] In this connection on 17 November 2017 by the decision of The Supreme Attestation Commission Attached to the President of The Republic of Azerbaijan conferred on Eldaniz Mammadov the academic degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in history.[4]
Еldaniz Mammadov is an author of the 1 monograph,[6] 9 educational program (teaching program), and more than 30 scientific articles and theses, as well as the rapporteur at republican and international scientific seminars and conferences.[7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18]
