"Elements" is the fifth episode of the first season of the Syfy television series Warehouse 13. It first aired August 4, 2009, and was written by Dana Baratta and Jack Kenny and was directed by Ken Girotti.

A thief steals a sculpture with the help of a Native American artifact, and the investigation leads Pete and Myka to discover a sacred place that they deem worthy of protection. Claudia sneaks into the team to protect herself from the organization's "consequences" for her actions.

Plot[edit]

500 years ago, a Native American wearing a Buckskin Coat receives four elemental items, and begins to glow.

Present day, a man wearing the buckskin coat steals a statue from a vault filled with items.

The impossible theft of a statue from the vault of an auction house causes Artie to send Pete and Myka to New York to investigate. In the Vault, Myka smells fudge, leading her to find a feather embedded in the wall. The feather allows Pete to reach partway through the wall, making them realize that it is only part of the artifact. The feather leads them to believe that the thief is one of two wealthy bidders who were interested in the stolen sculpture, Jeff Weaver, son of a notorious thief of Native American artifacts.

Speaking with Jeff, the agents find out that he holds one of four elemental artifacts, the element of fire. Jeff tells them that the stolen element is the Wind element, and that all four were made by Burleigh. While transporting Fire, Pete is attacked by the man in the buckskin cloak while in the follow car, and the thief throws him from the vehicle. When Lacell, Jeff's guard, and Myka get out of the lead van to help Pete, the thief drives away in the van, with the artifact.

At the Bed and breakfast, Claudia's brother Joshua leaves for a science research institute in Switzerland, promising to keep in touch.

Artie and Leena research the buckskin coat and discover it came from the Lenape tribe, the likely source for Burleigh's elemental artifacts. They believe that the four missing elements and the coat combined will allow control of the world.

Jeff takes Myka on a late night date, while Pete uses the time to search Jeff's apartment. He finds a hidden vault with Burleigh's Indian Artworks, and calls Myka, who begins to take Jeff back to the apartment. Pete discovers the four sculptures are keys to the underground cave where the Lenape's elemental artifacts are hidden.

Radburn, the other wealthy bidder for the stolen sculpture, abducts Lacell, who is revealed to be Burleigh's nephew. He takes a bracelet that shows the required order for the statues to be placed from Lacell. Radburn puts on the buckskin cloak, shoves Lacell into a wall. He now has all four statues and the instructions.

Jeff and Myka arrive at the apartment. Jeff tells them that Radburn got the cloak before he could, and that Lacell is a Lenape Tribesman. They contact Artie.

Radburn discovers that the statues with the rising sun cast a shadow map of New York, with the location of the cave.

Claudia figures out the location of the cave using magnetic ley lines, and Artie tells the agents. Claudia leaves for vegas.

Radburn uncovers the wall to the cave, puts on the buckskin coat and enters the cave. He drinks from the water of eternal life and takes the arrow. Jeff, Myka and Pete arrive as Radburn breaks open the cave and picks up the stone. As he picks up the fire element, Pete stabs him with the arrow, causing Radburn to lose control and be consumed by fire.

Later at the warehouse, Claudia returns from Vegas and Artie wonders if she would be up for the challenge of the warehouse, since college would be boring.
