Elevar Equity is a pioneer in what is now called as the impact investing space. Founded in 2008 by Sandeep Farias, Johanna Posada, Chris Brookfield and Maya Choregnel and is now lead by its current partners Sandeep Farias, Johanna Posada, Jyotsna Krishnan, Vipul Rawal, Amie Patel and Shobha Venkataraman. The investment firm operates in venture capital / private equity model and while their initial investments were in the microfinance businesses, they have invested in various businesses across agriculture, education, healthcare, MSME, housing and other sectors. Their investments are in the emerging markets - India and Latin America.

With 5 funds since inception, Elevar has invested in over 40 companies and has attracted significant mainstream capital in its portfolio of social enterprises establishing the return+impact alignment and huge scale potential. One of the rare fund managers whose first two early-stage venture investments went public/IPO and has shown exit track record across strategic sale, secondary sales, SPACs, etc. Some of the notable investments by Elevar are SKS Microfinance, Ujjivan, LEAD school, Samunnati, NuvemShop, CrediJusto, etc.

Elevar's core team is based out of Bengaluru, Seattle, Mexico and New York. Elevar has one of the most diversified investment teams and 2/3rd of its current partners are women.
