Elisa Brufal

Elisa Brufal (1919 [Elche] – 1996 [Paris]) was a Spanish author who published *Siete puertas* (1964). She was the runner-up for the Premio Planeta de Novel in 1957. Due to obstacles with censorship, she self-financed the publication of her novel and soon thereafter left Spain and moved to Paris. She participated in the *Trastienda*, a tertulia hosted by Sixto Marco (Belda 21), the Valencian artist who would go on to form the culturally significant Grup D’Elx in 1967. [1]
