Elly Senger-Weiss is an Austrian film producer, director, and screenwriter.[1] She is the founder of the Vienna-based production company Ellly Films, and co-founder of Octel Films in Madrid, Spain, and Arsel Films in Tirana, Albania. Known for her work across European and international film industries, Elly Senger-Weiss has contributed to a variety of narrative films and documentaries.[2][3]
Early life and education
Elly Senger-Weiss studied law and translation at the University of Vienna and subsequently worked as a translator and intercultural consultant. She later pursued filmmaking, studying at both the London Film Academy[4] and the New York Film Academy.
Career
In 2012, Senger-Weiss established Ellly Films, a production company focused on international co-productions and creative storytelling across genres. As CEO, she has overseen projects that have screened at major film festivals, including the Berlinale, Cannes, Venice, Tribeca, and Guadalajara.[5] In 2025, she co-founded Octel Films in Madrid with filmmaker Octavio Llano, as well as Arsel Films in Albania, aiming to foster international content and cross-border collaborations.
Fluent in German, English, French, Spanish, and Italian, Elly Senger-Weiss draws on her multilingual and multicultural background to support a globally oriented career in film.
