Elmedin Ademi is an Albanian businessman based in Macedonia..[1] He is the founder of Eurovia Holding[2] and the first Macedonian outdoor advertising company Screen Media.[3][4]

Early life and education[edit]

Elmedin was born on June 26, 1988 in the city of Tetovo.[5] He completed secondary school in the hometown of Tetovo and graduated from the University of South East European in Computer Science (SEEU).[6]

Career[edit]

Elmedin's first business venture, was at the age of 22, founding one of the largest and first outdoor advertising companies Screen Media in Macedonia.[7] He is also the founder of Eurovia Holding and also Chief Executive Office[8], an investment holding company headquartered in North Macedonia.[9] In 2018, he was ranked Forbes 30 Under 30 and was named as one of the most important business entrepreneurs in Macedonia in 2015.[10][11] In 2016, he was named the winner of the National Award for Macedonia at the European Business Awards.[12]

Elmedin has also been criticized for his close family relationship with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, now the late Abdilaqim Ademi.[13][14]

Views[edit]

Ademi has advocated for the importance of renewable energy in North Macedonia as a way to combat poverty, given the abundance of solar and wind natural resources in the country. In order for power projects to succeed he has emphasised the need for certainty and consistency in government energy policy, and advocated for partnerships between government and the private sector, warning about state capture and failings of utility companies, such as French Company Akuo Energy[15]
