Anaida Deti is an Albanian dentist and entrepreneur who is the founder and CEO of DentalX, a dental clinic based in Toronto, Canada.[1] She founded Mission KIND (Kids in Need of Dental Care), a non-profit that provides free dental service to underprivileged children.[2][3]

Early life and education[edit]

Deti was born in Albania, and her family immigrated to Italy in 1997 amid the civil war in their home country. She finished high school in Italy and also attended Dental University. In 2002 she moved to Canada, where she re-graduated and received a license as a dental hygienist.[2]

Career[edit]

A few years after getting her license as a dental hygienist, Deti founded DentalX in 2013, which won the Diamond award for the Best Dental Clinic by the New York Daily Mirror. She founded a non-profit, Mission KIND (Kids in Need of Dental Care), which provides free dental care to children from families facing economic difficulties. In 2017 and 2018, she collaborated with social organizations such as Red Door Family Shelter and Jessie's Centre to hold Giving Back Smiles, a campaign to provide their clients with cleaning services, fluoride treatments, x-rays and emergency treatments.[1][4]

Her story has been featured in The Mind of Female Entrepreneurs, a book published by Global Woman in 2019.[5] She has also written a monthly column called Deti Does Dental in Metroland Media.[6]

Awards and recognition[edit]

She is a member of the Canadian Dental Hygienists' Association (CDHA) and the Ontario Dental Hygienists' Association (ODHA)[7] and was elected as the ODHA Ambassador for Toronto North.[6] Deti was listed in the 125 Most Influential Leaders to Know in 2022 by Success (magazine)[8] and was recognized as the Female Entrepreneur of the Year 2021 by Stevie Awards.[9] She has received several industry awards, including:
