Early Life
Elson Angélico, Portuguese and Angolan citizen, was born in Luanda, Angola, and moved to Paris at 10 years old. He currently resides in Zurich, Switzerland [1].
Professional career
He studied Fashion and Interior Design at Créapole l’École de Création et Management in Paris. After his studies, and having lived and worked for international luxury brands in Paris, Thailand, Zurich, Singapore, Seoul and Lisbon, Elson Angélico worked as a consultant for different hotel projects in Asia as well as in various international projects in the fashion and design industry [2].
Elson Angélico is a founding member & partner, as well as a board member of MEXTO Holding AG [3].
MEXTO Holding AG is the parent company of MEXTO Portugal SA, a property developer in Lisbon, Portugal, which has won several of the most prestigious Portuguese real estate awards for its luxury refurbishment projects [3].
MEXTO Portugal SA has been the sponsor of the contemporary art fair ARCOlisboa since 2021, as well as the official host of its opening [4].
In 2019, Elson Angélico founded NOT A MUSEUM (NAM)[5]. Situated in the heart of Lisbon, NAM is an art lab where artists, visitors and professionals are encouraged to merge their experience in a fluid and non-conformative environment supported by a privileged network of contacts that acknowledge art's important role in diplomacy and society[6].
