Oke Emmanuel (born 24 July 2000), popularly known as Emaxee (often stylized as emaxee), is a Nigerian songwriter, rapper, Afrobeat singer, and creative designer. Emaxee came into the limelight late 2020 after his single, It's Not My Fault (Me vs The Educational System), garnered a lot of attention with over 40,000 streams on Audiomack.[1]
Early life
Oke Emmanuel was born on July 24, 2000, to a Nigerian-Ghanaian father and Nigerian mother in Osun State. He lived his early life in the state. He studied Economics at the University of Ilorin and graduated in 2021 after the pandemic delayed him by a year.
Emaxee is a fast and rising performing artist and songwriter and one of the most promising talents in the country. He is a trained Graphic Designer, a self-built motion graphics illustrator, a budding Cinematographer, and a lifestyle and fashion personnel. He is a multi-faceted creative as he has developed himself using art, creativity, and sound.
Career
Emaxee started his music career in 2017, after a two-year break from dancing, which he initially found as a means of entertainment while his mother rebuked him. His first official single was Oldest, released in 2017. His It’s Not My Fault: Me vs. Government in 2020 became a widely debated music video due to its conscious content.
Emaxee has released a series of singles including 1765, What If, Afturaw, Yanga Feat. Oladips, Foreign Made, and Jangilova.
On Friday, May 20, 2022, Emaxee released Time & Chance. On Saturday, June 18, 2022, Emaxee announced his debut Extended Play Oranges & Lemonade scheduled for release on Thursday, June 30, 2022.[2]
