The Embassy of the State of Egypt in Azerbaijan (Arabic: سفارة دولة مصر في أذربيجان) is the diplomatic mission of the Egypt in Azerbaijan. It is located in Baku. [1] The main responsibility of the Embassy is to ensure the protection and safety of Egyptian citizens in Azerbaijan. Along with this, the embassy provides a number of services, such as visa and passport processing, birth registration, legalization and others.[2]
Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on March 27, 1992. The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Baku has been operating since April 1993.
On October 24-26, 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Sameh Shoukry, visited Azerbaijan to participate in the 18th summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM). On September 30, 2016, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received Mr. Mohamed Orabi, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Egyptian Parliament and former Foreign Minister, who participated in the 5th Baku International Humanitarian Forum.[3]
