The Embassy of India in Sofia is a diplomatic mission of the Republic of India to Bulgaria.[1]
Leadership[edit]
Ambassador is in charge of the embassy. Sanjay Rana is the current Ambassador of India to Bulgaria.[2][3][4]
History[edit]
India's diplomatic representatives to Bulgaria resided in Belgrade and Bucharest from July 1955 until April 1970. India opened its embassy in Sofia in May 1970.[5]
Mahatma Gandhi statue was unveiled by the Embassy of India in Sofia in October 2020.[6]
Jurisdiction[edit]
Embassy serves Bulgaria and North Macedonia region.[7][8]
Education[edit]
Scholarships are offered by the embassy to local nationals to study in India.[9]
