Emerj (formerly TechEmergence[1]) is a market research and interview-based publication focused on the business implications and applications of artificial intelligence, known for its AI in Business Podcast. It was founded as a market research firm in 2018 by Daniel Faggella, after many years of being a personal blog.
History

Emerj started as TechEmergence in 2012, primarily as a personal blog focused on the long-term implications of AI. Early interviews focused more on the long-term consequences of artificial general intelligence, and included Nick Bostrom[2], James Hughes[3], Nayef Al-Rodhan[4], and other AI ethics and artificial general intelligence thinkers. As Emerj pivoted towards market research and was renamed from TechEmergence on December 5th, 2018[1], they picked up some projects with the World Bank[5], the United Nations[6], Interpol[7], the OECD[8], and others, and that was the period of Emerj’s birth as a business.
