Emily Barber (born 26 September 1991 in Peterborough) is an English stage, television and film actress. She graduated from Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2014 and rapidly received critical acclaim for her professional debut as Liz in Billy Liar, at the Royal Exchange Theatre.[1] for which she was named Best Newcomer at the Manchester Theatre Awards in 2015.[2] . Emily received a Commendation at the 2015 Ian Charleson Awards [3][4]for her lead role of Innogen in Cymbeline at Shakespeare’s Globe [5][6]. [7][8][9] It was her appearance in Cymbeline that prompted The Independent Newspaper to cite Emily as "One to Watch"[10]. Later in 2015 she starred opposite David Suchet in The Importance of Being Earnest at London's Vaudeville Theatre.[11][12][13][14]
Alongside a series of theatrical roles and guest television appearances in subsequent years, Emily has also had a recurring role as Cassandra Von Halen in The Royals for the E! TV network.[15][16] She currently plays the role of Violet Hayward opposite Luke Evans in Season 2 of the TNT/Paramount TV Series The Alienist [17]
