Emmanuel Daniel is an entrepreneur, author and public speaker in the financial services industry. Daniel founded The Asian Banker in Singapore in September 1996 as a publisher of editorial content, research and benchmarking. The company also creates events that serve the financial services industry, primarily in APAC. Daniel is currently chairman of TAB Global Pte Ltd, which runs The Asian Banker, Wealth and Society, The Banking Academy and TAB Insights, and other content and community platforms.[1]
His first book, The Great Transition – the personalization of finance is here, was published in September 2022. [2][3] The book includes forewords by former congressman Barney Frank[4] and Richard Sandor.[5] Dick Kovacevich, former chairman of Wells Fargo, also provided his support for the book.[6]
As a journalist, Daniel has interviewed a number of senior individuals in the financial services sector, including Zeti Akhtar Aziz,[7] Sir Howard Davies,[8] Daniel L Doctoroff,[9] David Eldon,[10] Fan Gang,[11] Barney Frank,[12] Stephen Green, Baron Green of Hurstpierpoint,[13] Piyush Gupta,[14] Dick Kovacevich,[15] George Mathewson,[16] Raghuram Rajan,[17] Jim Rogers,[18] Charles Prince,[19] Yngve Slyngstad[20] and Richard E. Waugh,[21] and notable figures such as Malcolm Gladwell,[22] John Howard[23] and David Miller (Canadian politician),[24] among others.
Daniel won the Citibank Excellence in Journalism Award for Asia in February 1999 for his work in determining the impact of the Internet on banking.[25]
Daniel maintains a blog and appears on news media[26] and podcasts[27][28] to discuss trends and developments in financial services. He also speaks at international events around the world.[29][30][31][32]
