General information[edit]
The Enterprise is a type of ride where no safety restraints are present, because riders are pushed into their seat by the strong g-forces. It is a big disk with gondolas on its side for one to two riders. At the start of the ride, the disk spins so fast that the gondolas end up at a 90° angle. Then the disk is lifted by an arm that turns it 90°, so it looks like the riders are in a spinning carwheel.
Technical information[edit]
The Enterprise is located at the beginning of the park, next to the entrance. The ride was built and opened in 1977. Riders have to be at least 140 cm in order to be able to ride. There is space for 42 and one ride takes about two minutes.
Almost removed[edit]
Before 2013, the 50th birthday of the park, former director Angelique Klar wanted to place 5 new attractions. Therefore, lots of classic rides had to make space, under more the flying carpet Dream Catcher (better known as Zwunka) and the Calpyso Rodeo Rider. Enterprise was also on the list, which sparked a lot of critique. Eventually Parques Reunides, owner of the park since 2012, had given Klar a smaller budget than expected whereby 'only' four new attractions were built, and Enterprise remained.
