Environmental change is a worldwide[1][2][3] emergency that knows no boundaries, and Nigeria, as Africa's most crowded country, is no special case for its extensive effects. Impacts of environmental change in Nigeria include increased temperatures, changes in precipitation patterns, desertification in the north, seaside disintegration in the south, and the subsequent effects on horticulture, water assets, and food security.[4][5][6]

Challenges[edit]

Climbing temperatures[edit]

Nigeria is seeing an expansion in normal temperatures, prompting more continuous and delayed heatwaves. These higher temperatures can adversely affect human wellbeing, farming, and energy interest for cooling.
