"Epic Mealtime Showdown of AWESOME" is a crossover video between two of the most watched YouTube channels The Key of Awesome and Epic Meal Time which generated over 2 million views. First posted on YouTube on January 24, 2011 featuring key members of The Key of Awesome and Epic Meal Time in a Super Bowl Showdown, fighting over who is the most watched YouTube channel.[1] This marked the first and only time The Key of Awesome and Epic Meal Time would directly work together in a crossover episode.[2] It was later ranked #2 of Top 2011 YouTube Food Videos by Eater/Vox Media.[3] The video also features an appearance by Vsauce host and collaborator Michael Stevens making this episode a 3 channel crossover between The Key of Awesome, Epic Meal Time, and Vsauce. The crossover aired again, during the first YouTube star-studded Comedy Week.[4] The video collaboration would later again, go on to be mentioned and featured on YouTube's official channel to promote the release of the viral video Rewind YouTube Style 2012 which holds more than 191 million views becoming the top collaboration throughout YouTube.[5][6] [7][8]

The episode featured key members from The Key of Awesome Mark Douglas, Todd Womack, Amber Lee "Obama Girl" Ettinger, Lauren Francesca, Ewan Gotfryd, Michael Stevens, Tom Small, and members from Epic Meal Time Harley Morenstein, Dave Heuff, Tyler Lemco, Josh Elkin, and Alex Perrault.[9]

The video was produced by Next New Networks and aired on The Key of Awesome YouTube channel.[10] The video was pushed as a fun channel cross-over between The Key of Awesome and Epic Meal Time, "Key of Awesome meets Epic Meal Time![11][12]

Taking place on the streets of New York City, in the video The Key of Awesome is working on a new video when Epic Meal Time arrives on the street also working on a new video. Crossing paths they face off, bragging about who is the "most watched" channel in the world. Finally, deciding to hold a showdown in the kitchen as Harley Morenstein and his guys start making an Epic Super Bowl sandwich. As they cook and bake, members of The Key of Awesome heckle them. Soon Michael Stevens the host of Vsauce also makes an appearance and is forced to eat the sandwich.

On January 24, 2011 the video was posted on to the video sharing website YouTube under The Key of Awesome channel[13] and has garnered over two million views. Epic Meal Time later released the video again on their website and channel.[14]

In an interview with Forbes on May 29, 2012 Harley Morenstein known as the brains behind Youtube’s favorite cooking show Epic Meal Time mentions how they almost burnt the kitchen down during the collaboration.[15]

In January 2015, both channels where listed on New Media Rockstars Top 100 Channels, Epic Meal Time ranked at #3[16] beating The Key of Awesome which was ranked #29.[17]
