Equator Pure Nature is a clean-tech company based in Bangkok, Thailand, that produces, markets, and sells natural, hypoallergenic, non-irritational household cleaning and personal care products under the brand name Pipper Standard. The company was co-founded in March 2012 by Peter Wainman, who also serves as the company’s current CEO.
History[edit]
Peter Wainman[1] founded Equator Pure Nature in 2010 after suffering from allergic reactions from chemical-based laundry care products. His condition led him to invent a globally patented pineapple fermentation technology, that is now used to produce the wide range of eco-friendly products under the brand name Pipper Standard. The company invested more than two years of R&D and introduced a range of products to the Thai market in 2014. Pipper Standard’s product range today includes a laundry detergent, a dishwashing liquid, a floor cleaner, liquid soap, a bathroom cleaner, a fabric softener, a stain remover and a bottle & nipple cleaner. The brand displays certifications to be bio-degradable, non-irritation and free of known allergens.
Patented Fermentation process[edit]
Equator Pure Nature’s patented pineapple fermentation technology forms the natural base for all its products. At the core of the process, Pineapples are mixed in an air-tight container with water, sugar and the probiotic bacteria Lactobacillus. This natural base subsequently converts carbohydrates into acids, resulting in pineapple fluids with a higher percentage of acid and bromelain.[2] The natural acids and the proteolytic enzyme from bromelain are then combined with other natural ingredients to create an effective cleaning agent.
By-products from the fermentation process, including the filtered skin and crusts of pineapples, become animal feed, helping to reduce animal intake of antibiotics. Waste water from the process is treated and used to help nurture agricultural farms.
Research and Development[edit]
Equator Pure Nature conducts all product research and development (R&D) in its in-house laboratory and employs multiple chemists and microbiologists. The quality control procedures cover manufacturing, packaging processes and distribution of goods based on requirements of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, OHSAS 18001, and GMP Thailand Trust Mark, Interteck: Think Green Initiative and Green Industry.
