Eric Busby

Eric Busby (born 1968) is a software industry leader and entrepreneur with experience in the technology, finance, healthcare, defense, legal and manufacturing industries. Eric was one of the first technical educators to teach software engineering for Microsoft University in North America and Europe while at Newport Beach based QuickStart Technologies. The Wall Street Journal published his thoughts[1] on the tech industry's challenging recruiting climate of the 1990s. He currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee and is co-founder of a data science oriented mar-tech startup.

Personal Life[edit]

Eric was born in California and spent his early years growing up in Los Angeles, Santa Monica and Beverly Hills before moving to Orange County. He is a graduate of University of La Verne, where he was a Philosophy major and concentrated his studies on the Philosophy of Technology. He and his wife married in 1988 and lived in Irvine and Foothill Ranch until 2014 when they moved to Tennessee. They have two children. Eric is a FCC licensed operator (K3NET[2]) and member of DCARES (ARES), the National Weather Service Skywarn and a trained FEMA volunteer

Career[edit]

Eric spent his early career as a technical professional working in specialist and supervisory positions at Advanced Computer Products, El Mercado Publishing, and the digital service bureau Personal Publishing Systems (PPS) before taking a significant step into the software consulting and education industry as a Software Engineer with QuickStart Technologies where he spent 10 years teaching in both Silicon Valley and Southern California. He moved into management roles and was eventually responsible for the Los Angeles region of the 3 time Global Education Partner of the Year organization. Eric then went on to serve as CIO of Saddleback where he created global scale systems[3] before going on to lead several startups including TCM, Prolifix and UnlistAssist[4], which was formed to provide individuals with new means to protect personal privacy[5] in the age of big data. After moving to Nashville, he co-founded Trinocity[6] while creating and launching CrowdGuitar, an educational marketplace with incentives based on instructional meritocracy. His current focus has been centered on CEadvisory[7] in the EdTech space[8] and CEA Data where he currently serves as Chief Technology Officer. Eric is a member of the Nashville Technology Council and assists startups and technologists.
