Eric K. Adae

Eric Kwame Adae is a Ghanaian author and an assistant professor of public relations at Drake University School of Journalism and Mass Communication.[1] Adae is a member of the Institute of Public Relations and the Chartered Institute of Marketing in Ghana.

Career

Adae began his career in several communication specialist roles, including Channel Two Communications Limited, Vivid Marketing Systems Ghana Limited, and Evolve Ghana Limited. He was the Group Head of Corporate Communications at CDH Financial Holdings, a diversified financial services group in Ghana.[2] He also served as an adjunct lecturer at the African University College of Communications and the School of Communication and Information Studies, University of Ghana.

He was appointed assistant professor at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Drake University in August 2020, where he teaches in both undergraduate and graduate public relations programs.[3]

He was named the "2021 Outstanding Iowa Public Relations Professional" by the Iowa Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America during its annual PRIME Awards.[4]

In 2021, Eric Kwame Adae and Professor Donnalyn Pompper won the Doug Newsom Award for Global Ethics and Diversity for the Public Relations Division, with their research paper titled "Public Relations and Sustainability across the African Continent: Using Afro-Centric Philosophies to Remember What’s Been ‘Forgotten or Lost’" at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) conference.[5]
