Eric Paull A former Akron, Ohio police officer was found guilty, in late 2015, of multiple felony charges. His convictions included Aggravated assault, Menacing by stalking and Unauthorized use of police property. The prime victim in his case is a former girlfriend, whom he met as an adjunct professor at Akron University.[2]
One of Paull's notable charges was accessing a police database, known as the Ohio Law Enforcement Gateway, in the gathering of information for his personal use. OLEG is for official police operations only. The database contains personal information and addresses of residents. As reported by media sources, Paull used this illegally gained information to constantly stalk his ex-girlfriend, even when she was hiding out, at a friend's home, to distance herself from Paull's unlawful abuse.[3]
