Erica Ridley is a queer.[1] and African-American author of over 40 romance novels and novellas translated into more than eight languages, and a USA Today[2] and New York Times[3] bestseller. Erica has served on the board of directors for the Romance Writers of America, and is a past president of the international writing organization Novelists, Inc. [4]

Her books were chosen as one of the best of 2021 by Entertainment Weekly [5], Library Journal [6], Publishers Weekly [7] [8], and We Are Bookish [9]. Seattle Book Review refers to Erica as "a master of her craft" [10], BookPage lauds her "incisive examination of gender and sexuality" [11], and the New York Times praises her plots "full of mystery, high jinks, and tender revelations" [12].

Her books have received rare starred reviews by the Library Journal [13], BookList [14], Kirkus Reviews [15], and Publishers Weekly [16] [17]. The audiobook for The Perks of Loving a Wallflower also won an Earphones Award [18]
