Eric Lopez (born September 7, 2002), known professionally as Ericdoa, is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer.
Career
What started his buzz in the Hyperpop community is COA Eric's late 2020 project. COA, framed as a "coming of age" project was released shortly after Eric's 18th birthday.[1] Eric's experimental releases continued in 2021, with a slew of tracks – his Interscope Records debut, "fantasize,"[2] followed by "back n forth,"[3][4] "strangers," [5] and "sad4whattt," which was included on the HBO drama series Euphoria Season 2.[6][7] Eric launched a collaboration effort with fellow artist glaive in addition to his solo albums/EP's. The songs on the EP "clock n dagger", and "fuck this town" received huge support from Hyperpop fans and newcomers to the genre.[8][9] Pitchfork rated the EP an 5.5.[10]
Musical style
Ericdoa was named one the many artist emerging the music sound with Hyperpop.[11] Many people call the young artist and foundational figure of the genre .[12] When Ericdoa was asked how he describe his sound instead of the words like next-gen emoartist, combining genres such as glitchcore, Hyperpop, Emo, He said " I feel like the sounds that I make are just me. It’s me and my brothers making music together. That’s pretty much it." [13]
