1984 was a Pre-Queen band that was formed in 1963. the band's original lineup consisted of primarily of Brian May (guitar), Dave Dilloway (electric bass), John Garnham (sitar, organ, tambourine), Richard Thompson (drums), John Sanger (piano), and future Smile lead vocalist Tim Staffell (lead vocals/harmonica). The group was mainly active from 1964-1968, touring various countries. Although they had disbanded in 1968 after May and Staffell left the group, a number of one-off reunions have been a thing for the group. In 2019, May officially released his autobiography, partially about the history of the band.[1] a official/permanent reunion occurred in 2020 with Sanger, May, Staffell, Thompson, and Garnham.
