Erich Giese
Kapitänleutnant Erich Giese (22 June 1887 – 5 June 1917 English Channel) was a German naval officer killed action during World War I.
Giese joined Imperial German Navy on the 1. April 1905. Giese was killed in Action of 5 June 1917 against Royal Navy warships aboard the torpedo boat S20. 49 of 74 men were killed.
The Kriegsmarine destroyer Z12 (March 1939-March 1940) of World War II was named the Erich Giese in the honor of Giese. Also, a street is named in his honor in Munich, Germany.
