Erich Giese
Kapitänleutnant Erich Giese (22 June 1887 – 5 June 1917 English Channel) was a German naval officer killed in action during World War I.
Giese joined the Imperial German Navy on 1 April 1905. Giese was killed in Action of 5 June 1917 against Royal Navy warships aboard the torpedo boat S20. 49 of 74 men were killed.
The Kriegsmarine destroyer Z12 (March 1939–March 1940) of World War II was named the Erich Giese in honour of Giese. Also, a street is named in his honour in Munich, Germany.
