Essa Kazim
Essa Kazim is the Governor of Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). He also serves as Chairman of Borse Dubai, as Chairman of Dubai Financial Market (DFM) and as Deputy Chairman of Supreme Legislation Committee in Dubai.[1]
Early life and education
Kazim has a BA in Math, Economy and Computer Science from Coe College, an MA in Total Quality Management from the University of Wollongong, and an MA in Economics from the University of Iowa.[2]
Career
After graduation, Kazim became Senior Analyst in the Research and Statistics Department of the UAE Central Bank in 1988. In 1993 he became Director of Planning and Development at the Dubai Department of Economic Development.[3]
From 1999 till 2006 he served as Director General of the DFM.[1]
Since January 2014, Kazim has been serving as Governor of the Dubai International Financial Center.[4]
Memberships
Kazim is a Member of the Higher Board of Directors of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), Chairman of the DIFC[1] and Authority Board of Directors, and Secretary General of Dubai Islamic Economy Development Centre (DIEDC).[5]
Donations
Kazim also holds an honorary Doctorate from Coe College.[1][2]
