Blue of Esteghlal or Esteghlal Blue is a 2 parts direct to video documentary film about Esteghlal F.C. directed by Mehdi Zaribaf.[1] First installment was released in summer of 2009 after the dramatic championship of Esteghlal in 2008–09 Persian Gulf pro league.

First Instalment[edit]
the first part follows Esteghlal's trainings and matches during 2008–09 season. Esteghlal won the title in the very last matchweek with a 0–1 away victory.
Second instalment[edit]
Following the commercial success of the first part the director and producer made a decision to produce the second part with a focus on team's last 8 matches and the drammatic victory.
Music[edit]
Reza Yazdani, Iranian rockstar composed a track for these documentaries.[2]
Legal problems[edit]
Amir Ghalenoei, then manager of team did not particularly like his depiction in the second part and files a lawsuit against the director.[3]
