Etson Barros (born 21 August 2001) is a Portuguese professional athlete specializing in the 3000m steeplechase. He is a national record holder and has represented Portugal at the European and World levels.
Career Highlights
Barros is considered one of Portugal's most promising track and field athletes. He is the national champion in both cross country and the 3000m steeplechase.
National Record
In August 2025, Barros broke the Portuguese national record for the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 8:12.19. The previous record had stood for 21 years. This performance also earned him a direct qualification for the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.[1]

- European U23 Championships: He won a silver medal at the 2021 European U23 Championships in Tallinn, Estonia, in the 3000m steeplechase.[2]
