Eugene Henley

Eugene Henley (often referred to as Big U), is an American community activist, former gang member, and founder of the non-profit organization Developing Options.[1] In his youth, he was a leader in the Rollin' 60s Neighborhood Crips and at age 26 was arrested for robbing an undercover officer with another gang member.[2]

While still in prison in 2003, Henley created the organization Developing Options (Ex-Offender’s Fellowship Network).[3] He was released in 2004 and starred in the 2021 docuseries Hip Hop Uncovered on FX. He also managed hip hop artists which included Kurupt and Nipsey Hussle.[4]
