Vishwanath NG
Vishwanath NG is an Indian entrepreneur and community organizer in the Netherlands. He is the founder and president of the Indian Center in Netherlands (ICIN), a non-profit community organisation that supports the Indian diaspora through integration assistance, cultural events and community welfare initiatives.[1]
Community work
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Vishwanath NG coordinated food assistance for international students facing financial hardship. *Eindhoven News* reported that “hungry Indian students have reached out to the Indian embassy for help, confirms Vishwanath Ng from the Indian Centre in the Netherlands (ICIN). The Indian supermarket, ProvisionHop, has, therefore, set up an emergency service to provide students with free groceries.”[2] Regional broadcaster Studio040 also covered these student support efforts, highlighting financial and emotional challenges faced by international students and quoting local organisers including Vishwanath.[3]
Cultural events and leadership
In June 2018, Vishwanath founded the Indian Center in Netherlands (ICIN), which organises cultural programmes and provides practical assistance to Indians arriving in the Netherlands. Under his leadership, ICIN organised the “Discover India in Eindhoven” festival in 2022, featuring Indian music, dance, food and a fashion show; this event received coverage in local press including TheNews21 and EBNW.[4][5]
He has also convened forums for entrepreneurs and freelancers in Eindhoven; local coverage of a 2024 meetup notes his role as host and organiser in association with Holland Expat Center South and Brainport Eindhoven.[6]
