The EuroLeague 50–40–90 club is an informal statistic used to rate players who were deemed as excellent shooters in the EuroLeague. It requires a player to achieve and maintain the criteria of 50% field goal percentage, 40% three-point field goal percentage and 90% free throw percentage over the course of a regular season, while meeting the minimum thresholds to qualify as a league leader in each category. It is also a statistic recognized by the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA).
In Euroleague history (since 2000), only four players have recorded a 50-40-90 season. The player with the most 50-40-90 season recorded is Nando De Colo with 6 occurrences.
Criteria[edit]
Unlike in the NBA who uses the calculated version of a statistic up to the third decimal place, in the EuroLeague, they use the calculated statistic up to the fourth decimal place and when used for official purposes, they rounded up the statistic to the nearest whole number.
A true 50–40–90 season requires a player to achieve or exceed 50.0 percent field goal efficiency, 40.0 percent three-point field goal efficiency and 90.0 percent free-throw shooting efficiency.
The player must meet the standard requirements in order to be included in this club. They must make at least 95 field goals, 40 three-pointers and 65 free throws. The standard was only been lowered during the 2019–20 season due to the cancellation of the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
