European Bowls Union

The European Bowls Union (EBU) was an organisation dedicated to promoting, fostering, and developing the sport of lawn bowls across Europe. Its principal event was the biennial European Team Championships, known as "the friendly games".
The 12th edition of the championships was hosted by Bowls Guernsey in September 2019.[1]
History
Between 1997 and 2019, the European Bowls Union organized 12 European Team Championships, a biennial event aimed at promoting and developing lawn bowls across Europe.[2]
The inaugural tournament was held in Guernsey in 1997, and the final edition took place in Guernsey in 2019.[2]
The championships were hosted in various countries, including Jersey, Portugal, Cyprus, Spain, and Israel.[2]
The event featured different formats over the years, evolving from mixed pairs and singles to include men's and women's pairs, triples, and fours.[2]
