Eva Lewarne
Eva Lewarne (b. Wroclaw) is a Polish painter, photographer and designer. She moved to Canada in 1969.
Biography and education[edit]
Eva Lewarne, Toronto based artist, after doing a Psychology and English major at the University of Toronto, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Social Work, graduated from OCAD (Ontario College of Art). In the most recent years she received a Medal from France in a Painting Festival in Avignon (Grand Prix). She was also featured at the Grand Palais in Paris before that, where her work was stolen from an international exhibition called Figuration Critique[1].
Eva Lewarne earned the Digital Photography Certificate at the George Brown College[2]. She is The Healing Power of ART & ARTISTS online gallery at Manhattan Arts NY[3].
In 2016 she received an Award of Excellence from Manhattan Arts International[4].
She is represented by Gallery Gevik in Toronto.
Style[edit]
Eva Lewarne's work is "often surreal and fantastic, both in painting and photography"[5].
She is influenced by meditation practice in Zen and Tibetan Buddhism[6].
Curiosity[edit]
In 1993 a painting of Eva Lewarne was stolen from a large international show at Grand Palais, Paris[7].
