Exchange Data International Limited is a provider of pricing and reference data based in London.[2] It provides data reference services to financial and investment communities worldwide, particularly in the United States & UK.[3][4][5]
History and about[edit]
Exchange Data International was launched in 1994 in London, United Kingdom.[6] It covers data of all major markets with special emphasis on emerging and frontier markets.[7] The reference data it provides include worldwide equity and fixed income corporate actions, dividends, static reference data, closing prices and shares outstanding.[citation needed] Data is delivered via Web access, email, and FTP feed.[7] The corporation is based in London. It has additional offices in the USA, India and Morocco.[5][8]
In September 2008, the company announced an agreement with Advent Software, Inc. a public limited company.[9]
In 2015 Worldwide Equity Analytics was added to its data offering list allowing clients to identify the sources of risk and returns in their portfolios and project their volatility.[5][10]
It serves investment banks, fund managers, custodians, hedge funds administrators, broker dealers, data vendors, and software houses.[8]
Partnerships[edit]
In June 2016, the company partnered with FinTech Sandbox a Boston-based nonprofit organization promoting financial technology innovation.[11] It also has partnership with Vertical Management Systems, a US based data provider and account aggregation technology company.[5] The partnership connects the mutual fund data solutions of VMS with the reference data services of EDI, allowing clients of VMS to get their required information from a single source.[12]
In July 2016, Quandl, a search engine for numerical data partnered with EDI, allowing their clients to access the EDI database containing reference information for securities.[13]
