Exhibition of Miniature of Kurdistan Costumes

The Exhibition of Miniature of Kurdistan Costumes is a small 2-room museum that occupies the lower floor of a renovated traditional building at the Citadel of Erbil. The museum displays a variety of dolls dressed in a multitude of traditional Kurdish clothing from many parts of Kurdistan. In addition, there are some models demonstrating women in different everyday activities, including rural scenes, (e.g., cooking, baking, spinning threads, weaving, etc.). Traditional Kurdish headdresses, textiles, and jewelry are also displayed.[1] The exhibition sells many handmade souvenirs (reflecting the museum's content).[2] The entrance fee is 1,000 Iraqi Dinars (about $0.70). The curator speaks Kurdish, Turkish, and Arabic. Most dolls and scenes are labeled with Kurdish and English descriptions.[3]
