Exotix Capital is a boutique investment bank specialising in frontier and emerging markets, with Duncan Wales, formerly the General Legal Council for ICAP, as its chief executive officer, and Mark Richards as its chairman.[1][2] The firm is headquartered in London, with offices in Dubai, Lagos, Nairobi, and New York.[3]

Overview[edit]

Exotix Capital was founded by a team led by Peter Bartlett in 1999.[1] At its peak Exotix generated revenues of over £35 million and made in excess of £8 million in profits for its investors.[1] Mr. Bartlett remained a leading shareholders with approx 25% stake in the business, through his private investment vehicle PBAC Limited, until March 2016.[1] IPGL (Holdings) Ltd, controlled by Michael Spencer, CEO of NEX Group and former Treasurer of the Conservative Party, is currently the largest shareholder with 51.33%.[4]The firm specialises in illiquid bonds, loans, equities, structured finance, and capital raising exclusively in emerging and frontier markets. The research team, headed by Paul Domjan, former CEO of Roubini Global Economics, covers some 130 companies across the frontier and emerging world.[5][3] Exotix Capital is an Associate Member of the Emerging Markets Traders Association.[6]

In February 2018, Exotix Capital co-hosted the Institute of International Finance's 2018 Frontier Forum along with Bloomberg. Notable speakers included Arunma Oteh, Treasurer of the World Bank and Timothy Adams, President and CEO of the International Institute of Finance.[7]

In March 2018, Exotix Capital sponsored the Zimdaba 2018 conference in London, the first Zimbabwe investor conference to take place outside of Africa after Emmerson Mnangagwa assumed the presidency.[8]
