ExtraaEdge is a cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) company, headquartered in Pune, Maharashtra, India. It is a data-driven sales and marketing solution built for education institutions. ExtraaEdge was founded by Abhishek Ballabh and Sushil Mundada in 2015.[1][2][3]
Its core service is a data-driven cloud platform for student acquisition, admission management, marketing automation, conversational chatbot, and full-stack customer relationship management (CRM).[4]
History
ExtraaEdge Technology Solutions Pvt Ltd was founded on 14 Aug 2015 by Sushil Mundada and Abhishek Ballabh as a software as a service (SaaS) startup.[5]
Sushil Mundada and Abhishek Ballabh worked as data architects and CRM business analysts at HSBC GLT, respectively. While working in the finance sector, the two realised how harnessing the power of data science and CRM could augment the growth of the education industry to streamline admission processes. As a result of this necessity, the idea for the first market-first enrollment solution for the education industry was launched.[6]
ExtraaEdge raised $700,000 in its pre-Series A funding round in 2020. The funding round was led by Bengaluru-based Sprout Venture Partners and the Indian Angel Network. Others that participated in the round include TiE Pune Angels, First Cheque LLP and UIncept.[7][8][9][10] In March 2021, ExtraaEdge raised $1 million as a part of its pre-series A round from Pentathlon Ventures. The round also saw participation from other investment firms, including 9Unicorns, Indian Angel Network, Faad Network and DevX Innovation. Other angels, including Monish Darda, co-founder of SaaS unicorn Icertis; Manasij Ganguly, founder of Threadsol; and Aditya Somani, a former vice-president at Premji Invest, also participated in the round.[11][12]
ExtraaEdge doubled its customer base during the COVID-19 pandemic and currently works with more than 225 education brands.[13][14]
Awards & Recognition
The company was awarded as Innovative Admission Solution Provider of the year 2021 by Asma, India's Top 30 Edtech Summit 2021.[15] ExtraaEdge was also recognised under 2021 India and South Asia Edtech 100 by HolonIQ.[16] One of the co-founders of ExtraaEdge, Abhishek Ballabh, was also featured in the Elite BW Businessworld 40 under 40 Club of Achievers 2020.
