The International Federation of Wine and Spirits Journalists and Writers (FIJEV) has 650 members in 62 countries; consisting of direct members or affiliated through national associations (Weinfeder, APV ...)1. This association is governed by the French law of1, July 1901 and the Decree of 16 August 1901. Its purpose is for information, advocacy and training journalists and columnists specialized in wine and spirits from different backgrounds. FIJEV is made up of journalists, columnists and editors as well as authors and writers of wine and spirits. Its headquarters are in Paris. Its two official languages are French and English. Contents

History
Founded in 1987 by the Frenchman Jan Bertin-Roulleau (who died in 2010 aged 85.[1]), who was its first president, followed by the Belgian Louis Havaux.; from 2007 to 2010 the American Joël Payne; from 2010 to 2012 Jacqueline Jensen, a Danish journalist; from 2012 to 2019 Michael Hornickel, a German journalist The current president (president dot fijev.org) is the German journalist,Wolfgang Junglas[2], and since October 2012 the general secretary is the French Anne Meglioli (secgen dot fijev.org), publisher specializing in viticulture and oenology[3] The Board of Directors of FIJEV has the following composition since 15 May 2019:
