History
FREEandCLEAR was founded by father and son, Harry Jensen and Michael Jensen. Harry’s experience as a mortgage broker led him to realize that many borrowers lack basic knowledge about how mortgages work. They decided to create a website that addressed this information gap as well as the overwhelming frustration many people experience when they apply for a mortgage, which many borrowers compare to going to the dentist.[2]
The company is known for producing studies and reports that highlight issues such as the lack of mortgage education[3], housing affordability[4], the frustrations of the mortgage process[5] and how mortgage documents overload borrowers and the environment[6].
