FREEandCLEAR

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

FREEandCLEAR is a mortgage information website that helps people make informed decisions and better manage the mortgage process. The company was founded in 2012 to address the lack of education and understanding about mortgages that contributed to the real estate market crisis...[1]

History

FREEandCLEAR was founded by father and son, Harry Jensen and Michael Jensen. Harry’s experience as a mortgage broker led him to realize that many borrowers lack basic knowledge about how mortgages work. They decided to create a website that addressed this information gap as well as the overwhelming frustration many people experience when they apply for a mortgage, which many borrowers compare to going to the dentist.[2]

The company is known for producing studies and reports that highlight issues such as the lack of mortgage education[3], housing affordability[4], the frustrations of the mortgage process[5] and how mortgage documents overload borrowers and the environment[6]. The company has been featured in the Washington Post, Chicago Tribune and several other mortgage industry publications[7][8][9]

Products and Services

The company’s goal is to help people save money and avoid getting ripped off when they get a mortgage. Its web site offers tools and resources including mortgage calculators, guides and lenders tables that enable users to compare mortgage rates and closing costs for lenders in their state. The company released its mortgage lender directory in August 2018[10]
