FXStreet a company founded in 2000 in Barcelona, Spain; focused on the coverage of news and events on forex, as well as on the analysis and forecasting of forex market, with tools to help brokers. Since 2017 it also offers extensive information about cryptocurrencies.
History[edit]
Early years (2000 - 2003)
FXStreet began its career in 2000 in Barcelona, Spain, with a Spanish-language website aimed at both Spanish and Latin American audiences. The founders of this company, Francesc Riverola, Miriam Pinatell and Sergi Fernández, continue to be partners today. After a first launch of the website in Spanish, decided to make a hole in the Anglo-Saxon market with a version of the site in English.
Expansion (2003 - 2006)
In 2003, the expansion of FXSTreet began with the hiring of its first worker. Likewise, the office moves to the neighborhood of Gracia. In the following two years the number of workers increases considerably and a new version of the website, both English and Spanish, is launched, with the update available until 2013.
In addition, from their already famous and necessary help tools, such as News, Charts or Quotes, help spaces are created such as Q & A Sessions or Economic Events, which would later be called Economic Calendar, and can be found on the web today.
As of 2006, the workforce is considerably increased, having to relocate the headquarters near La Rambla, where it is currently located. Likewise, new measurement and trading systems are added, such as Technical analysis and Live video, where brokers can interactively present educational content and financial analysis.
Consolidation Years (2007 - 2010)
In October 2007, FXStreet organized the first international conference of Traders, in Barcelona. In fact, they will continue hosting the annual event for another 5 years, until 2012.
In the following years, the web will continue to increase the number of help and measurement tools, reaching over 50 currency pairs and, in 2009, they will even create their own news feed specializing in forex and with 24-hour coverage during the 5 days of the week that the forex market operates.
Thanks to this fact, global expansion is facilitated, starting with the creation of a new version of the site in Japanese, Russian and French.
Nowadays and Cryptocurrencies
After a period of changes in the internal structure of FXStreet, it was decided in 2014 to launch a new version of the web, the 3.0, adapted to all devices, which will be released in May 2016.
Currently, FXStreet has more than 30 employees at the headquarters in Barcelona and approximately 40 external collaborators distributed throughout Asia, Europe and America, among which stand out names such as SA Ghafari or the online trader training academy The Lazy Trader. Its website has been adapted to 17 languages and at the end of 2017, it is decided to start covering the cryptocurrency market simultaneously with forex.
