Face of Idoma is a beauty pageant[2] set in place as a tool and a platform for empowering the girl child of the Idoma people. Most importantly showcasing the beauty and cultural heritage of the Idoma women to the rest of the world.[3]

Winners are expected to carry out pet projects.[4] Devotes their time carrying out charity works within and outside Benue state with the aim of serving as a positive role models to the girl child of the Idoma Nation for the duration of their reign.

History[edit]

Price Edwin Ochai, a business magnate and philanthropist created the Face Of Idoma in 2013[5] with the aim of uniting those of Idoma decent living within Benue state, Nigeria and overseas.[6]

The pageant serves as an avenue to encourage its contestants to embrace their social and cultural heritage. The values of their motherland.

Competition[edit]

Screening exercises also known as auditions are held and successful contestants selected,[7] tutored on etiquette and stage presence at boot camp before the main event.[8]

Wear displays and dance routines are carried out and later the winner emerges.

Winners are presented with a new car (2013/2014 winners were given a new KIA RIO) among other amazing prices.

The inaugural edition of the Face Of Idoma beauty pageant 2013 was won by Miss Esther Adapoyi. A 20-year-old undergraduate of Benue State University.[9]

The 2014 edition of the Face Of Idoma 2014 was won by Miss Joy Onazi.[10] A final year student of the Benue state University as at when she was declared winner. While the Runner up was Miss Blessing Ochanya Ogwuche[11]
