Fahmid-ur-Rahman
Fahmid-ur-Rahman (Bengali: ফাহমিদ-উর-রহমান; born 1963[1]) is a Bangladeshi intellectual and writer. He is a clinical psychiatrist and mental health specialist by profession.[2][3]
Professional Career[edit]
Fahmid-ur-Rahman is an Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Mental Health in Dhaka, Bangladesh. [3] He is also a mental health consultant at Central Drug Addiction Treatment Centre in Dhaka.
Writing[edit]
In addition to his professional publications, Fahmid-ur-Rahman has written extensively on politics, identity, culture, religion and history in 18th-20th century colonial Bengal and present day Bangladesh.[1][4] Through his works, he attempts to critically examine issues such as modernity, post-modernity and colonialism in the present day Bengali intellectual tradition.[2][5][6]
