Fairlight CVI (Computer Video Instrument) is video synthesizer developed in Australia in the 1980′s. Fairlight CMI (Computer Music Instrument) is the mother company based in Sydney. The CVI is a powerful real-time video effects unit; ‘video version’ of the CMI. A final version of software released for the CVI was R7. The original Fairlight R7 upgrade included 4 EPROM to replace the ones on the main board in the bottom of the CVI mainframe, and the use of RS-232 in the late 80s and early 90s we used as a CVI Remote program that ran on an Amiga Computer. It completely automated the CVI to create sequences of effects.
