Faisal Farooqui is an Indian activist, writer and business executive.[1][2] He is an advocate of time zone reforms in India.[3][4]

He is also a member of a start angels network, Lead Angels.[5]

Early life and family[edit]

Farooqui was born in Mumbai, India. He was educated at the St. Stanislaus High School in Bandra, Mumbai.[6] For higher studies, he moved to the United States where he received his bachelor’s degree from the Binghamton University in Information Systems and Finance.[7]

At the age of 24, he married a British woman of Indian origin, Aabeda, and both currently live in India.[6]

Career[edit]

After graduation, he started working at American Management Systems as a telecommunication consultant.[6]

In 2000, he left the United States and moved to India to establish MouthShut.com.[6][8] He is known for introducing web 2.0 in India.[9]

He is also known for popularizing the concept of advertising on rickshaws for marketing purposes.[10][11]

Recently, he became spokesperson for Indian actor, Dilip Kumar, because of their long-standing family relationship.[12][13]
