The Falen, also known as "Concept 17.1", was a supercar concept that in 2008 was rumored to be in development by the Scottish design studio Dowdeswell and Hardie. The name Falen came from the name for an old Scottish spirit. Dowdeswell and Hardie said at the time that the Falen would exist as a prototype by early 2009, and that the production version would be unveiled at the Geneva Show in March of 2009. Production would be limited to only four cars, two colored black and two colored white. Dowdeswell and Hardie claimed that it would market the Falen as a track day special.
As of 2017, the car, having never gone into production, was described as “the Loch Ness monster among supercars”[1] by Top Gear Netherlands, who wrote that “it never existed at all”[2] and its chance of still existing as “less than zero”.[3]
Specifications
Dowdeswell and Hardie had said they would make a full technical specifications list available on their website on September 1, 2008.
The chassis would be a carbon fibre monocoque, the bodywork would consist totally of carbon fibre, and the car would use an active rear wing.
