Fallen Agents Fund is a non-profit organization with the goal of aiding and assisting the families of fallen United States Border Patrol Agents. The Fallen Agents Fund does this through their annual Christmas present drive, and various family funds established when a Border Patrol Agent dies.
History
In 2014, a group of Border Patrol Agents from Calexico, California, began a Christmas present drive to support the children of fallen Border Patrol Agents. They started with a list of twenty-four children in the local southern California area. A Christmas tree was placed in a Border Patrol station with the names of fallen agents on it. After two present drives, the agents formalized the organization by applying for 501(c)(3) status. The following year, the Fallen Agents Fund expanded to four present drive locations and provided one hundred ninety-two presents to thirty-nine children of fallen agents. Shortly after the Christmas present drive, the Fallen Agents Fund received official 501(c)(3) status from the Internal Revenue Service on March 30, 2016. [1]
