Fanny Gaïda (born 1961) is a former French prima ballerina at the Paris Opera Ballet.

Career

Starting in 1973, Gaïda studied at the École de Danse de l'Opéra National de Paris and joined the Paris Opera Ballet in 1978, where she performed many major roles of classical ballet but also took part in the premieres of John Neumeier's Magnificat in 1987 and Twyla Tharp's Rules of the Game in 1989.

That same year, she became prima ballerina, and in 1993, after her interpretation of Giselle, she was nominated danseuse étoile.

In 1996, she served as a jury member at the international classical dance competition Le Chausson D'Or.
